Week 41 - Bridget - 100 WC

Have your ever read the book Little Red Riding Hood? Because if you have it is all one fat lie. Now, my name is Little Red Riding Hood and what happened that day on the way to Grandma's was just any ordinary day. I had my headphones on and was jaggering along to the best beats, when all of the sudden my playlist had a spaz. It started playing songs like ‘Barbie Girl’ and ‘Call Me Maybe’. I couldn’t stop it! I chucked my headphones away and they went flying through the wolf's window. Now that is when trouble struck!

Bridget 100WC | Week 34

A rush of green air burst into the hall. My nose sucked it up like a vacuum cleaner.
“Ow, Sophie next time you go to the toilet can you put a skunk in there? It would probably smell waaaaaaaay better” I screech, scrunching up my face.
“Oh, toughen up you little baby”
Head down, nose blocked, I charge into the toilet.
I look down into the toilet bowl looking at what disaster had hit the air. The water swished around slowly… at first. It just wouldn’t stop. I kept on pushing the flush button but it just made it worse. The water kept gushing out until it was to the tip top. Just as it was at the edge of the ledge a single drip fell onto my toe.

“Few, it stopped.” But it hadn’t. The light fell of the roof and plunged into the toilet covering me in toilet water.

Bridget 100WC | Week 34

I clutch tightly onto the rails that stick out of the cracked concrete ledge overhanging a rapid rush of water. The deafening sound of tumbling water bursts into my ears making me explode with extraordinary vibes like someone hitting a piƱata full of happiness. I stare forward. The water just kept gushing out of the rusted pipes. I can feel the sprinkle of the water spraying at me. Imagine being those pipes, all the weight on your shoulders. The city, the lake relies on you. People avoid you, get scared around you but at the same time you're their hero.

Cara 100 wc Week 33 Something

Something
In the flash of lightning I saw something. Just a single flash.

An immense figure crawled over me, slow and as patient as a cat, waiting for just the right moment to pounce, to scare me from life. The figure, a starfish of it’s own, but only of course, HUGE. Claws as pointed as a needle about to pierce through my dreams or possibly skin. But then lightning again and the figure disappeared.

I don't know what it was. I never will. But I know it’s still out there, hiding in its own ghastly shadow, waiting for the right moment …

100wc week 33 We are small

We are small

In the flash of lightning I saw a big hairy caterpillar. He was so big that you could see it from an airplane. The police and fire people came and tried to kill the big caterpillar. But all of a sudden the engine on the plane crashed into the caterpillar. The whole town was silent. They were waiting for some sort of movement from the plane. Nothing then the caterpillar started to move. But one little girl said this man shrank us and made the caterpillar big. The caterpillar was so big like an ogre. Everyone screamed and dropped everything.

The Shadow

I was home alone. The trees howling in the wind. The flickering TV screen was the only light in the house. I was lying on the couch watching Master Chef. I looked outside and in the flash of lightning I saw a shadow looming over our back garden. I went outside to see what it was. I gingerly opened the back door and went up to him.
“Hello who are you?” I asked.
“Please come a little closer so I can see you,” he replied.

I stepped up to him and he took my hand and flew into the sky.

Chocolate surprise

“Lulu got some more chocolate for you to try, its caramel nut” dad said with great enthusiasm on his leopard face. We all sat down at the table. I nibbled a little bit off the corner of the chocolate bar. It tasted and smelled  like a mouse cage. I went for another bite but something was holding me back.
“Are you going to eat your chocolate bar? I made it for you.”
“Sorry dad I just couldn’t eat something so gross”.
Dad stood up and he took the chocolate bar and said “That’s true. You're dairy free.”
“What!” I said.

Sophie T's 100 WC, Week 30

Everyday I had at least two friends that I would meet after school at Yogurt Story. They would stuff their faces with the lollies and yogurt while I would just sit beside and watch because I just couldn’t eat something so I wouldn’t put on weight. Every day when I went to Yogurt Story I would get more and more jealous of my friends. Then one day I could not take it any longer. I brought money with me and I spent it. It tasted delicious. Now I am finding this hard to type as my fingers are too large.

The Night of the dreaded CREAMED RICE!!!

I looked up at the ceiling, a puce color that made me want to puke. I tried to like it, desperately tried, since it would be the last thing I ever saw. I had run downstairs, but it had followed. I shut the door, but the slime dripped through.

And now I was drowning in creamed rice, my favorite. How ironic. The gooey substance enveloped me, like pushing a letter through the slit into the letterbox. Then the cavalry came in.

Giant, succulent peaches, falling into the rice. I grabbed one, and kicked my way to the window. FREE!

100WC Week 29 - Sophie

I stood up to get another coke as the movie came to the scariest bit. I had just left the room when I felt something small and wet drip onto my head but I ignored it. That was a big mistake because while I was watching the movie the small wet drip leaked through the roof and onto the floor slowly covering it. The small wet drip got bigger and bigger. Once the movie ended I flicked on the light and screamed. I went into the kitchen and I SCREAMED as I watched the slime slowly drip through the roof.

The slime

I was in my room last Saturday with my little brother and we were watching a scary movie. I got up because the movie ended. I turned the light on. Something gooey dripped onto me. Something nasty but smelled like roses. I looked up it was slime. The slime dripped through again but this time onto my brother we both started to panic we ran out of the room screaming. Wheres mum? I thought maybe she's outside. I went outside then found mum and my older brother outside with slime all over them then they shouted “ We got you bad. ”

100WC Week 29 - Henrietta

Lately, I've noticed at school, slime or putty is popular. Kids using it as a thinking tool. Then swiftly, children come pouring into the classroom, because someone reveals that they made fluffy slime. Kids touch it, handle it and squish it. I hear someone say “it’s so fluffy I'm going to die!” And another says “it’s as fluffy as a rug!”

After a while slime and putty starts to get an issue, and then completely gets out of control.

Then a scene happens, where the class was soundless, silently reading, but unanticipatedly the green, goo slime drips through the ceiling!

Cassidy's 100WC Week 29

Her name was Princess Slime of Slime Castle  and she was fierce, she was the most disgusting princess of all time, covered in oozing green slime. She was the proud owner of Slime castle the most foul castle ever, located in Slimeville where it only rains slime. One day as she was proudly strolling the halls of Slime Castle she noticed a leak in the roof. As the slime dripped through Princess Slime  tried to get help yet she was too late and the slime had leaked everywhere and the princess and all her servants drowned in the green slime.

100 WC Week 29 cathlin

Stopping flytrap part 1

I stepped into the tree to get to the headquarters of Superhero Co. As I was running to the control room I meet Wonder Watcher who was also heading to the control center. At the control room we met Commander Crasher. He told us that we would be together to stop Flytrap and that Flytrap has created the sliminator that we need to stop before he slimes the whole Tri-State area. I ran and got into my flying jet as Wonder Watcher ran off to her egg. As we got there we saw as the slime dripped through the sliminator.

Bridget Week 29

Pain, soreness, taking over.
I looked around trying to move but I’m stuck. Stuck in a glass cube like a bead in a rattle. Any smaller, the walls would squash me like a lemon squeezer.
Without warning sloppy, stuff runs over me. I stare into the reflection and slime covers me. At first I think it’s fun. I play with it happily, until unexpectedly slime dripped through the top of the cube. It was filling up, surrounding me, leaving no room. It was like a bath filling with water except there is no way out when the cube was full.

Shanelle's 100wc The slime monster

The slime monster

On a windy and stormy night there were 3 people. They were watching a movie. They heard the door. One of them went to go answer it, but there was no one there. He came back, the other two were gone. Then, suddenly the slime dripped through the ceiling. He ran outside to watch his house sink underneath the ground. He jumped in his car and went to his mum’s house. The next day he went back the house had raised. He opened the door and went in. He found a blob of slime on the floor. The house rumbled.

Bridget Week 28

I slowly follow the crowd of people, sticking to the back. Suddenly a wall appears, right in front of my eyes. The grey, stone wall looks like a sloppy, wet paint job. The shape of people in front of me are dug into the wall. I look around. The wall stretches around the whole hall. Are those people stuck in the wall or is it just a mould. There shadows are still there, the crinkles in their clothes are still there. They were still there. Two grown men stuck in time and me, I am trapped. How will I escape!

Bridget Week 28

I set foot into the dusty, abounded museum. The museum had cracked walls and trashed photos dangling, barley. I creeped through the museum slowly looking for my lost sister, Daisy. I stepped behind the counter to see if she was hidden away in the corner. Suddenly I was stuck! I tried to twist my body out but I couldn’t. I pulled and pulled until finally I slipped out. As soon as I managed to slip out, I forgot everything. My name, age, every single fact. My mind was blank. I stepped back into the wall and I remembered everything again.

SophieT 100 WC Week 28

Every year on November the first I disappear through a wall to the Hogwarts express for the year. I am in my 6th year at Hogwarts no one has ever seen me slip through the barrier but this year was different. I did not do my usual check as I was in a hurry because I was dropped off late and was going to miss the train but someone saw me running at the barrier and whipped out their phone and took a shot and it went viral. Now I am going to have to live under a rock forever

Easter 100WC

“It’s finally Easter!” I say with joy, leaping around the room.
“That means we can have chocolate!” my sister Molly yells with excitement. We only get chocolate at Easter, apart from parties and that kind of stuff.
“Nice, hard, brown chocolate,” I say.
“No! Nice melted chocolate, as melted as gooey caramel!” Molly replies.
“We can have both,” Mum steps in, and says.
“Can we go to see the Easter Bunny?”
“Yeah, sure why not?”
Mum must be in a good mood today!
“Just don’t forget your camera” Molly says.

“Don’t you two go gobbling too much!” Mum says worried.

Bridget Week 27

The Girl Stuck Inside

The sun cleared brightly, making the world beautiful! I wander onto the brown, fluttery dirt. Poof! It flies everywhere like a swarm of bees.

“Lola, hop out of the hologram.”

I slowly step onto the wooden tiles, the only floor I’ve ever felt. It’s so hard to imagine the outside world. Why can’t I step into the world like the normal people I see in photos? Why can’t I grab a camera and run out and capture the moment? Why can’t the world stop being worried about me? For once! Why is it me who has to be stuck inside?

Sunday 26 March 2017

The Catwalk

Her hair is a beautiful brown mane that sparkles in the light. She was one of the best models in the world and was going on a very exciting adventure. She was going to go on the biggest catwalk she had ever gone on. She knew it was going to be hard, and she was worried that the camera man would trip and fall on her like last time. The next day all of the best models came to compete. She did her catwalk and everything went well and not one fall. She became the best model in the world.

Lights, camera, action!

Lights, camera, action! Everything was quiet but the faint sound of classical music starting the interview. The interviewer’s hair was dark brown like the bark on an oak tree. She was wearing the most beautiful green earrings. My heart was beating as fast as Usain Bolt runs. As my very worried face touched the top of the cardboard cup as I took a slurp. The questions started. Some were too hard but I answered them so I didn't embarrass myself. A couple of minutes later the final question was asked, I took a deep breath and relaxed. it was finished.

Week 27 100WC Cassidy

Week 27

I stared down at the hard ground beneath me. I was worried, worried I would never get out of this strange world I was locked in. I knew I shouldn’t have opened that book. Suddenly, a boy had mysteriously appeared out of nowhere and interrupted my thoughts. He had dark brown hair and carried an expensive looking camera around his neck. He quickly snapped a photo of me, giggled then disappeared into thin air like dust. Confused, I started searching through the tall, thick grass looking for clues. I crawled amongst a beautiful little pendant, could this be the answer?

Week 27 100wc cathlin. The lump of clay

I looked at my brown clay that had gone hard. My dim light cast a yellow glow over the clay lying on my desk. I wanted it to be beautiful but it came out sloppy, it was as hideous as vomit. I gingerly sat down on my half broken chair, my worried face visible to everyone. ”It is hideous,” I heard a voice chanting. I took my clay over to the camera. I sat down quickly. It  started the countdown. It blinked. It blinded my eyes. I let go of my clay. It shattered as it hit the solid concrete.

Sophie 100 WC Week 27

I was staying in a shack with my mates, on the west coast of New Zealand. We were on a bush walk with a guide that was talking about the native plants but none of us were paying attention. That’s when I saw it; a beautiful brown kiwi. I got out my camera and took the perfect action shot of it peeking its head out of its burrow. Then, an ear bursting BANG! The kiwi fell down dead. I rushed towards the kiwi full of dread and worry. I saw what the kiwi was protecting. A perfect hard kiwi egg.

Shanelle's 100wc week 27 Hard brown and sticky

Hard brown and sticky
On a hot sunny day I was walking my dog. I saw my friend at his house. I decided to stop at his house. When I left with my dog I decided to take him to the park. And when we got there, I saw a beautiful butterfly. I got out my camera and took a photo. I worried for a minute I said to myself “Did I close the the back door?” Suddenly I raced home but I left the dog. I quickly went back to get him. On the way back there was something hard brown and sticky.

Cara - Week 26

Green, blue and white… all bobbing in a sea of blacknesses. Those three colours hold much.

Great, towering lumps, rocketing up through the sky, while turquoise glittering fabrics crash against pale pink shells and grasp them in again, some bits quite felicitous and then others chaotic and out of order.

So much in that unimportant ball of green blue and white. It even holds me! But how can something so tiny hold all of this?

I hold my pet hamster, who holds a single blade of grass, which holds the thing that creates all…  Sorry! Wasn’t listening in biology again!

Sophie 100 Word Challenge Week 26

But how can something so tiny make such a big impact on someone’s life? My name is Jackson Smith and that question is asked over and over. Last week my pet ant died because I was amalgamating his food with some seed to keep him healthy. Some of my chemistry homework fell into his food and then he died. Everyday at school people would bully me because my pet ant died. He was my only friend, my soulmate, the one I would come home to when I had a bad day. My little pet ant will now rest in peace.

The girl who learned how to cook

Once there was a little girl named Olivia who was learning to cook. She was taught by her cook. One night when she was supposed to be in bed asleep she went downstairs to get another book to read, when she heard her parents shouting at the cook.

“You don’t need to teach our little girl to use a mitochondria-sized spatula. It is so small you can’t even see it.”  Olivia could see her father's head move to look at her as she dashed back up to bed. In bed she was thinking but how can something so tiny exist❓

Sunday 19 March 2017

100WC Week 26

Summer is a hot yellow sun shining onto the beach. But when her husband died, it turned to winter. But how can something so tiny change, and make such a huge difference? The pain in your gut hurts so much that you can't get the emotion out of you. He died on Sunday the 19th of March. What is the reason for his death? The next day she walked onto the footpath as sad as she could be sitting on a bench as she thinks about her eulogy as the day is coming. She thinks and thinks again.

100WC week 26

So there I was sitting at my desk, the usual. Science, same time everyday, doesn’t change! No one seems to enjoy science that much, because it’s too boring...

Anyway the teacher says the word “mitochondria.” Frowns appeared across the classroom, then the teacher speaks “Does anyone want to have a go at what the word means?”

“Does it mean a bolt or a screw?” the boy sitting next to me has a go.

“No, it’s something as minute as a ant's eye!” the teacher replies softly.

“But how can something so tiny be invented?” the girl across from me mentioned.

Bridget | 100WC | Week 26

Mitochondria! Reminds me of one of those dolls that sits inside one another getting smaller every time. How can something be tiny, but spoken as a really long word? English is strange! Have you even heard of something that is smaller than a simple full stop? Literally. It must be too teeny to imagine! How do scientists know what it looks like? They would need five hundred million microscopes overlapping it! Is it even possible for 56,250,000,000,000,000 things to drift in our body plus the bones, blood, fat, muscles and everything else? I’m really confused!

Meaning for Mitochondria
*Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. They are organelles that act like a digestive system which takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy rich molecules for the cell. The biochemical processes of the cell are known as cellular respiration.
There is 1000 to 2000 mitochondria in one cell. There are 37.5 trillion cells in our body which means there are

Little Brother

I have a little brother. He is so cute! He came home today. His name is Luke but I call him Lukey Doodle Doo.

It's been 13 months now and Luke is sooo annoying, but how can something so tiny be so irritating? He does the opposite of what I say. Yesterday Lukey Doodle Do poured my beaming, shining, new box of nail polish on my new computer. Mother said it was an accident but I saw that troublesome smirk on his face. My face scrunched up like a walnut and I stormed out of my room and grabbed him!

Shanelle's 100wc Ants

But how can something so tiny cause me so much trouble? This takes me back to when I was a baby. I was playing with my mum. We were playing hide and seek. And when my mum went to go and get her phone to take pictures of me I fell flat on my face. I saw a big ant. I cried. Mum came rushing out to see what was wrong. She took me back inside. I stared outside trying to find that ant. The next day I went outside to see where mum was then ants were on me.

Week 26 100wc The morning light

The sky was a beautiful crimson as the sun rose, the clouds as beautiful as a lavender. The sky filled with light pink and light yellow. Ruby stood outside admiring the clouds changing in the warm morning breeze. Ruby saw the sun coming out and let the sun's warmth fill her body. Ruby’s mum came out to join her.
”Ruby the sun is so big up there,” her mum said with her smooth tone, ”but how can something be so tiny when we see it?” Ruby questioned. Her mum laughed and went back inside, her dark hair flowing behind her.

My little sister

I have always wanted a cute, little sister. I have dreamt about it ever since I was four but it never came true. Well this time it was different. Last night I woke up to hear screams coming from the kitchen. I stumbled down the stairs as loud as a parrot and opened the door to a new little sister. Her tiny little marshmallows were holding a little sheep and her skin was as smooth as soap. I loved every moment of it until she started vibrating the house with screaming. But how could something so tiny be so irritating?

My Sister, The Beast. By Ava.

I look around, assessing the area, bracing myself for the sudden whirlwind that always, ALWAYS comes. Then,  around the corner she comes, 12 centimetres of pure evil.

Her ratty blonde pigtails, almost reach for me, menacingly beckoning  to me. I think to myself, “But how can something so tiny, be so destructive?” I look at the clashing pink and orange jumpsuit; a dreadful eyesore, it almost seems to blind me.

In my moment of unseeing, she pounces! I dodge her, and run to my bedroom. I slam my bedroom door, breathing heavily, horsley. I have evaded the beast, for now ...

Eva Week 25 100 WC

Every lunch a group of bullies met me at the gate on my way back from the playground. Every lunch I take a different route to avoid them but somehow they always find me. It’s always me, even if I have a friend with me they always go for ME. I tell my teachers, my friends, and my family but they do nothing about it. It's almost like they don't care. I wish I had something, somebody or even a power. But I don't, well not that I know of. So that is why I am always last to class.

different. by Ava

I am Different.

Everyone knows it. I've seen the way that they look at me, like I'm some sort of freak.
I know they skirt away from me in the hallways, as if I am contagious.

The teachers treat me different, too.

”Come on,Marie, write this prompt down.”

I stare at the words on the whiteboard....So that is why I am always last…
The letters seem to mix and twist around, moving too fast for me to see.

I cry out, but no one hears me. The world spins. Everything goes dark, leaving me alone.

Alone.

As usual…

Cara - Week 25 100wc

Running out of the house, blazer flailing behind and backpack hung over one shoulder while I chew on a single piece of toast, my leg swings over the bike and I get going.

Music dances through the air, swaying side to side. But what kind of music? Then I spot it. I just can’t help it. I swerve to the side.

I walk slow as a giant tortoise, as not to drop my ice cream. Completely relaxed, forgetting all about school, and it’s just a lovely weekend with millions of hours to … What about school?! That’s why I’m always last.

Dentist

Johnnie Zam Zam, had always been scared of the dentist ever since his brother came back with his two front teeth missing.
“I’ll do the housework, anything, but please don’t take me to  the dentist.”
“Now now who do we have here?” asked Dr. Clips, “Ah Johnnie...what a cute name”. (That's why i'm always last to go to the dentist). “Open wide say “aaah”.
 “Aahhhhh,” I said.

”Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear this boy will need braces for 5 months. See here ...” She pulled my mother over and showed her my dreadful, awful mouth. What’s going to happen?

The new girl

One day far far away there was a girl. She had dark brown hair and sky light eyes and her name was Poppy. She was awesome but one day she broke the line. The day before this happened Poppy was out with her friend at Time Zone and she won a whoopee cushion. The next day she went to school. She tried and tried to get Mr Tiddles. He was a weird dog. Then at morning tea she put the dog poo on the seat that was a whoopee cushion then it went mad. That’s why I always come last.

Being Last

I love P.E. I do the beep test everyday and normally get 10 laps. Monday was the biggest beep test in my life and I knew I’d succeed. I slept in that morning and was nearly late for school. Just when I got there the old bell started screeching like unhappy children. We all started running. I was puffed by 11 laps and suddenly collapsed. Yay new record! I saw mum crying at the door. “You’ve got a muscle tear.” “The doctor said you'll never be able to run again”. She sobbed. So that was why I'm always last.

Bridget 100WC Week 25

Oh great! Monday! The day my lunch is COLD! This happens because of my family. You'll see......

Slowly, I get ready for school trying to avoid the rush of my family.
“Amy, quick, you’ve got to be out the door in two minutes!” Mum screeches.
She shoves me into the kitchen and drops bread and a knife covered in peanut butter into my bag and rushes me out the door. I look down at my money stash in my pocket.
Every Monday the teacher checks my bag and makes me scrub it clean. So that is why I’m always last!

LOST! Week 25 100 WC Miya

Two years ago our class was having a tramp in the native forest. I was at the front of the line. We were trying to discover native birds. And that's where my story starts…  walking in the amazing forest with birds chirping. Everyone except me could spot a native bird. But suddenly lurking ahead of me I saw a beautiful Kea. I ran after it forgetting that I had to stick with my class. I called out to my class but they didn't answer. I turned around to find I was lost…  so that is why I am always last!

100WC Week 25

I hear the teacher speaking. I listen more carefully, as carefully as a bird waiting for it’s prey to jump out! And hear “cross country is in three weeks.” Don't hold your breath, cross country has never been my thing, I usually trip over a stick poking out somehow and no one else stumbles over anything, so that is why I am always last! You have to do it unless you've got a broken leg. That's it! Maybe I should just try and break my leg! Actually no, I won't do that I need my legs for lots of reasons!

Shanell's 100 WC Last

I was running to try and find light. I was trying to beat my brother back home to get that chocolate ice cream. I haven't eaten for days. We are lost in the forest with my annoying brother. Then in a blink of an eye my brother was gone. He already started running and so I did I. I caught up but it started to get dark so we both stopped and went back and made a hut. When I woke up he was gone. I got up and started running and so that is why I am always last.

The Tortoise and the Hare twist

Hi I’m Amy and today I’m here to talk to you about my ridiculous, idiotic dilemma with races. I am fast and fit, I am like an electric bolt, but I never win my races. Why? I have realised that I’m stupid. Well I call myself stupid because today I heard myself bragging about how fast I was before the race. I raced Millie (who I thought was as slow as a sloth) but I was wrong. I was too cocky and didn’t race my absolute hardest, so Millie won. That’s it! So that is why I am always last.

Week 25 100 wc A true story Cathlin

Ruby went up to Mr Joyful to get her work checked. When Mr Joyful checked her work he said ”Ruby next week your goal is to write a happy story.”

Ruby thought that that shouldn't be too hard. On Monday it was time to do 100 WC. Ruby looked at the website and found the prompt. She looked at the prompt and said to Mr Joyful
”How am I meant to make a happy story about the prompt ‘that's why I am always last’?”

Mr Joyful laughed and announced ”take pity on Ruby who has to write a happy story.”

Cathlin's This is my happy place poem

I see the Cleanness of the ocean
I hear the faint chirp of the people surrounding me
I feel the smoothness of the pale sand running through my hands
I taste the breeze of the wind flowing past me
I think this is my happy place

Cleanness of the ocean
faint chirp of people surrounding me
smoothness of pale sand running through my hands
breeze of the wind flowing past me
This is my happy place

Cleanness of ocean
Chirping of people
sand
Wind flowing

What is the opposite of a... By AVES

What is the opposite of a book?
Endless blank pages with no hooks?
Because books have words that can be used greatly.
And beautiful covers that are decorated ornately.

What is the opposite of a cloud?
A dark shadow, a cold silent shroud?
A whisper in the gusting wind.
The gentle cry of those who sinned.

What is the opposite of an Ava?
A mere impostor, a touch of the flavour?
For surely no one could compare to the Ava’s awesomeness

To do so would probably be ominous

shanelle's poem

What is the opposite of hot?
Is it that you're in Antarctica or not
Shivering, trying to get warm
Face is purple, breath is steaming up

Cara - The Opposite of the Ocean

What is the opposite of the ocean?
Could it be the swerving tree leaves in the breezes motion?
While waves crash to the land
And overcome shells and sand.
